Edo Period Akoda Nari Kabuto
ERA: Early - Middle EDO
STYLE: 16 plate Akoda Nari Kabuto
REGION: Honshu
SCHOOL:Myouchin
Here is a very nice example of a revival akoda nari kabuto that dates to the
early 1700s. There is not much that I can say that the pictures do not say for
this piece. It is in simply perfect condition. No scratches, nics, or fading.
Several of the seasoned armor experts who have seen this kabuto thought that
this piece was a Muromachi period hachi that has been restored in the early
1700s. However, I have seen one nearly identical to it that I believe was made
by the same smith which was signed and dated to the early 1700s. I believe this
work to be the same, though the liner is unbroken and no signature is currently
visible.
