Yamagane kogai with an autumnal motif of seed pods.  The yamagane is a deep brown color with extensive gold gilding.  The motif is high relief, giving the kogai a substantial feel.   The ornamental plate is backed by a nanako field which retains substantial amounts of black lacquer.  This is a classic early kogai (jidai kogai) which retains much of its original length, shape and original gold gilding.  A good addition to a ko kinko tosogu collection.
