This is a shibuichi kozuka of a
medium brownish color, with an ishime finish on the obverse; the subject is of
two birds
near a riverbank. A duck done is rendered in silver is swimming along the
water's edge with nightingale? flying over, done in gold. The bridge post is
done in shakudo and silver. The gold and silver appear to be applied in
uttori (foil). The reverse is plain migaki, with minor discoloration. This
kozuka can be used for mounting purposes or enjoyed alone.
