Mitokoromono
- Fuchi Kashira, Kojiri, Menuki
A nice set of wave motif fuchi kashira and kojiri plus
dragon menuki. This came as a
set, although the menuki are not original to the
assemblage. Overall the detail is appealing, with
crisp broad lines detailing the waves, coupled by the
robust, large form of the pieces. We think the
material of the F/K and Kojiri is silver which has now
developed a thick oxide coating. The menuki appear to be
brass, The gold-looking areas, are where the brass
seems to have been selectively polished.
Late Edo, ca 19th c. (fuchi kashira
and kojiri), Meiji period menuki.
