It is rare to find a set of sode with kamon laced and lacquered into the design. It is even rarer to find such a beautiful set in perfect condition such as these. The diamond kamon pattern is gilt onto the lacquer, and the color of the lacing alternates to white lacing (from dark Blue) in the area of the gilding. This creates a very vivid pattern which stands out. This set of sode dates to the Middle Edo period.
