Sori: 4mm or 0.2 inches
Overall length: 38.2cm or 15.0 inches
Width at hamachi:2.6cm or 1.0 inches
Width at kissaki: 2.3cm or 0.9 inches
Taihai (shape): almost straight with very slight sori, ubu tanago shape nakago
Jigane: Mokume with light areas of o-hada
Hamon: Medium suguba, ko-nie with running sunagashi
Jidai: Late Kamakura ca. 1330

The sayagaki of this o-tanto attributes it to Mihara Masaie. The nakago is ubu and is signed Masaie. To my knowledge, this sword has not been submitted for papers. It has been in my collection for approximately 10 years. Masaie restored the Mihara group in the late Kamakura period. This sword has an old polish. The jigane is beautiful and there is a nice contrast with the deep purply color of the steel and bright activity. There is a single straight horimono on one side.
