Nobuie Tsuba
I think it is safe to say this is a true Nobuie, however a generation or two later than the original
Nobuie. The quality and feel of this tsuba are pleasing
and the signature and design look similar to the one particular
accepted Nobuie found in the Nobuie Tsuba Zukan. The orikaeshi
mimi is strong, yet slightly taller than earlier Nobuie. The
patina is strong and smooth, yet slightly off color of older
pieces, yet it maintains the same dark irony sheen in the
patina. There appears to be small tekkotsu in the rim. This is a
great chance to acquire and study a good Nobuie tsuba without
breaking the bank.
