OWARI TSUBA

A nice example of a square owari tsuba in good condition. The patina of this tsuba is a soft, delicate dark brown, with no pitting.   It was difficult to capture the colour of this tsuba against the camera's flash.  It has been fitted with yamagane sekigane and shows good evidence of actual use. This piece comes with nice form fitted recessed display box.  The form is simple and appealing.

Mid Edo period.

7.05 cm x 6.45 cm x 0.55 cm at nakago ana and 0.5 cm at rim
